Serious Question-I'm taking a gap year but do I still officially class as a "student" watch

I was at the dentist the other day and I had to fill in the form, there was a box that said under 18 and another which said over 18 and in full time education. Now as the new academic year has started I figured I'm not in either even though I plan to study this year in another country and have a deferred entry university place in this country.
I was wondering if anyone else is still experiencing these kind of problems because they are on gap years and if anyone knows the correct answer.
All help would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah as long as you have a place at uni you're classed as a student.

No you're not. Unless you're registered on a course you are not classed as a student. Students taking time out part way through their course are students (but are not eligible for student loans etc.) Being on a gap year pre-university does not mean you are a student.

Think it might be a little tricky with NUS cards because i think they only send them to the school/ uni you are/ will be at. I guess you could try.
