My AS exams didn't go that well and I ended up with:
    C - Maths
    D - Computing
    D - Business
    E - Biology

I plan to try to resit some and I'm continuing to A2 with all except Biology. Hopefully I should be able to get at least a BBB with more effort but would that be enough when I know most Universities look for an AAB or ABB? I'm mainly worried that my predicted grades will be really low and I won't get offered a place by the time I get those grades.

You'd probably be better off applying after you've got your results and planning for a gap year. Predicted grades of BBB are still a bit iffy from CDDE, and higher than that just won't fly. Look at it as a positive and plan something good to do in the year.

One grade up per subject is usually the acceptable limit. Of course, cases vary, but more than one grade will need the referee to account for it in the reference.
