Please somebody help me. I am very worried for my safety at my new accomodation. I have signed a 6 month contract for this place and paid application fee, deposit and first months rent. However, after living here for two weeks I am so scared. There is no real security in these flat, no cctv and anybody can walk in from the entrance door. I would not be concerned if the people living here were nice but they are not. There was a couple arguing the other day, there is blood on the stairs and recent graffiti on the walls, there are neighbours who speak a different language who talk really loud and in an intimidating manner at 12am-4am and growl and make lots of noises. All I have is a lock to my own flat door. I feel if someone wanted to break in then they could. What can I do? I really just want to leave but I am bound to a six month contract. Help me anyone. Is there any law regarding fear that can release me from the contract

Legally you're bound by the contract as you can't just use fear to get out of it.

The problem here is the landlord is just going to turn around and say you should have viewed it before signing =/

I did view the property, twice. I did not see any of this when I was viewing it. And now it has all just hit me when I have moved in. I was so excited to move in and I love my room. It is just that I really do fear for my safety and my possessions in my room. I am so scared at night I keep waking up. I feel hopeless. I have emailed my landlord regarding security as that entrance door is not meant to be opened 24/7 for everyone but it is. I doubt they will be any help. It just seems that they want money and not safety.. I thought I was moving into a safe and secure place like it was shown to me
