Is it possible to get into university to study physiotherapy with an btec applied science extended diploma??

Yes, but some universities will have varying requirements.

I found two immediate examples of this-
Birmingham:
Edexcel/BTEC Diploma:*Applied Science, Health Studies or Sport and Exercise Science with D*D*D* overall and Distinctions in all units. Certain units are required in these BTECs. All BTEC students should contact us before submitting an application.

Cardiff:
BTEC Science - DDD in Applied Science (Forensic/Medical Science only).
Applied Science will be considered if optional modules 11 and 12 are taken.*

These are literally the first two examples that I found, and they are Russel Group universities so there should be others that have more lenient requirements.
