I recently saw a video from TYT (The Young Turks) about how American, Republican voters were up to 60% likely to like a policy if it was from a representative of their own party, even if it was strongly considered as left wing. This shows most people don't care about policy, and mostly care more about the person presenting it. Why is this?

Did (((The Young Turks))) mention that America contains millions of people like this?

I blame the 1980's NeoCons convincing the churches to get their flock to vote. It changed the state of US politics forever.

Well yeah, they mentioned how this shows how badly educated they are about politics in the US; 60% of Donald Trumps voter's think Obama is Muslim. 😩

One would argue the same happens in British politics. I've known snp supporters for example who will blindly agree with the party line rather than question why an allegedly left wing socialist party advocates right wing policies.

    I guess it's tribal politics.

George Carlin has the measure of it....... applies to pretty much all global politics..... then people wonder why Corbyn has so much support.
