Hi there not sure if right forum but currently going to take a gap year to reapply, and applying for health care assistant jobs. In my application do you think it would be unwise to mention that my reason for taking the job is to enhance my reapplication (it asks your reasons for applying and I have mentioned other reasons)

Do you think by stating this, they could be put off by my application as commitment obviously only lasting 1 year in the job if i get offers from medicine

    Any help appreciated?
    Kind Regards

    hey,

I did exactly the same thing and in my application for the job I based it around the fact that I want to study medicine and enhance clinical skills; they see this as a very positive thing and know you will be a hard worker so I would include it in your PS and your job application if you can. What department is the HCA job in?

Do you need experience or any sort of qualifications to get an HCA job, as I want to apply to some HCA jobs part time whilst I'm studying my degree.

Band 1 and 2's usually dont require previous experience of sort however if you did it would look better. Theres usually a specification you must meet all the essentials

aw amazing mate. im a radiology care assistant and I love it. just make out that you want to develop yourself academically and professionally and they eat that stuff up. its so much better than actually being on the wards a lot more stress free and you get to see a lot more I believe. you have more of a say in stuff according to the others I work with who have worked on the ward and in diagnostic imaging. good luck

no worries. im actually going to go study diagnostic imaging at uni this year. oh plus when you end up going to uni, you can go onto flexible staffing bank which means you still work in the NHS so whenever your free you can go back and do some hours as in on weekends, holidays. is pretty awesome.
