    So i called the Imperial Admissions office and they told me that there are no extenuating circumstances form (like cambridge) but since my grand paa passed away during my GCSE exams it seriously affected me. Isnt there any way i can state this formally ?.

    On your ucas form, the reference can include this sort of thing. It is better coming from your referee, rather than yourself in the PS.
