    Hey,

So I'm starting uni in London and my induction/welcome week is from the 14th of September however my official start date is the 21st.

To get an oyster card you have to provide your start date (21st) and after speaking to Tfl they've said I won't be able to get my student oyster card until then as they have to wait for me to be approved. Obviously this is no help to me as I'm going to need to be travelling around from the 14th.

So I need advice on the best/cheapest way to get around it- get a student oyster card and use day tickets in the meantime? Or get a normal adult oyster card and use it straight away? Either way I'll also be purchasing a 16-25 railcard.

    Thank you

You can add your railcard to your Oyster card to get 30% off travel but it's only for off-peak hours
