First, you need to have a 50 x 50 (pixels) image uploaded to webspace somewhere. Then, click the 'user cp' button, then 'Edit Options' and scroll to the bottom. Click 'Change Avatar', select yes for 'Use custom avatar' and then enter the URL of your image in the box below. Press 'Submit modifications' and then you're done.
Sticky Request - for a set of instructions lifted from one of the previous threads on Avatars, to include also a set of instuctions from the thread on Signatures - This will stop this constant repeating of requests for help with avatars & sigs
