Does no news really mean good news?

Is not hearing back about applications really a good sign? I had an interview more than four weeks ago and did an online test 2 months ago and have still not heard back from either of them...it seems really ridiculous and it's driving me crazy!! Not to mention the other firms who are taking two months to even make any kind of contact...it's making me very depressed....:frown:

Heyy I've still got one not heard back from absolutely killing me as all my interviews bar one rejected me. I emailed them last week v politely and they said they were still reviewing my application and sorry for the delay. Yet still no response. To make it worse i know people who have been interviewed for the same firm and been offered a vac scheme. So v confused, does that mean i'm on a reserve pile but it's just weird as its march now and why are they taking so long when i applied over 2 months ago. Also having read over that application in my op it was quite a good one.
Sorry can't be much help i guess u just have to stay positive and wait it out.

well it's comforting to know i'm not the only one!! Do you think it's worth emailing them then? I'm worried they'll think i'm being impatient....did they seem to mind that you got in touch?

Going by people's posts on this forum- people who have waited ages for a reply from a firm, you really can't judge the status of your application based on how long you have to wait. You just have to wait.
Some people may get rejected sooner than others but that doesn't mean a firm isn't going to reject you a little bit later- you have to take into account the different times at which you sent your applications as well, I suppose.

It means your application hasn't been processed yet. On the plus side it means that it has got through the initial screening stages which is automatic with the electronic systems (or o some very coy grad recruitment people will reveal)

It really could mean any number of things... I've been going slowly mad for the past couple of weeks waiting to hear back from firms, only to receive an email from one firm asking me why I hadn't been in touch to accept/reject their offer! Turned out that the letter they sent me had been wrongly addressed so only arrived two weeks after it should have. Don't despair!

i had an interview two weeks ago...still waiting to hear the outcome of that...and also still waiting to hear from two london firms-applied early december so nearly three months waiting now-the suspense is killing me!!!!!

on a more positive note, have 2 assessment centres lined up in the next month or so

Not really if it's post-interview... could just mean they're taking the time choosing which people they want. Or it could be that you're in a maybe pile and they're waiting to hear back from those on the definite list.

hey gossip queen i don't think it can hurt to send them a really polite email. It's the suspense that kills you so you need to know if they are still reviewing your app or maybe they've misplace it. You need closure lol!
Aah I hate law firms soo annoying.
