Do you understand what the question is asking you?

Do you recognize the square numbers up to 100 say?

I just don't know what the question is asking me?

Thanks
It's 76. This sort of question is designed to be one where you try every individual option given and then work out the answer as a process of elimination.

9^2=81
81-5=76

what I did to work it out was add 5 to each of the answers, and then I straight away recognized 81 as being a square number. It really helps if you learn the first 12 or so square numbers especially for Alevel:smile:

Have you got it now from the help given by the other posters?

There's nothing subtle going on in this question - it really is just a question of adding 5 to each of the numbers until you get one you recognize as being a square.
