Help with Plate Tectonics

Hi I have been given a 4 page essay by my teacher about plate tectonics and I'm wondering what I can do so far I done 500 words and my minds blank. He said it can include diagrams but please can someone help me
I saw a popular science documentary a while back... might have been this one


anyway IMO a suitable basic structure;
you want an introduction in which you tell the reader that there were observations that couldn't be explained by the then current theories of geology

then you have a main bit where you tell the reader how the theories were changed in the light of new evidence

then you have a concluding bit where you recap what you've already said and optionally say something about any ongoing research/controversy

should be able to turn up lots of suitable diagrams using google image search
