I've decided to do children's nursing next year. I have been volunteering at brownies/rainbows for three years and I've done 3 days work experience in a hospital and I also have a part time job as a retail assistant. I was wondering what else I could do for work experience?

Thats a brilliant start for experience, the only things i could think you could add would be maybe try getting something in nurseries or special educational needs schools or maybe youthclubs so you get a good mix of ages, but some applicants dont manage to get hospital experience so you've got an advantage there already

Try and get some voluntary experience in a children's ward at your local hospital.

If you don't mind me asking, what did your hospital experience consist of?

Thanks! My teacher is getting me into a children's ward for a few days in Halloween I might try to help out in Sunday school so I can mix with different age groups. The last time I went I was in the renal unit, they basically showed me their routines, what they do in a daily basis, their computer systems and the nurses got me into the children's ward for an hour.
