    Hi,
I went on work experience at a software development company in the summer, and programming is the main part of it. My boss was using a MacBook Pro to program so I'd assume that it's suitable for CompSci- then again, every computer is suitable really.

Yes it would. code looks absolutely beautiful on a macbook. I will recommend it however if you're looking to do any gaming then don't get it. I will only suggest it if you have a primary desktop or you're 100% sure you wont be gaming, otherwise it can do all the other stuff like running ide's, servers, browsing, word, etc. I got my macbook 3 days ago and I love it
