So after being homeschooled for about 4 years I just joined a prestigious 6th form. The problem I'am having is that I dont answer teacher's questions even if I do know them. I'am not that shy, just prefer not to talk even with friends sometimes. Really annoying because I can really bring a lot of good ideas into class discussions...feel like I'am about to screw up

I'm going through this at the moment as well.
I externally joined a top sixth form (the top in our county).

I came from a school where it's rare to even get 5A*-C let alone the grades I got.. I'm a bit intimidated by it all and it's very overwhelming. I can mentally answer the questions but I'm scared to do so verbally in case I get it wrong and people judge me.

Maybe talk to your teacher after lesson and see if you can sort something out with them? My politics teacher is giving me stuff in lunch to do with him so I can improve my confidence.
