The way I got started was by looking through current events in science and I looked until something caught my eye; I then did some research into it to see if I thought I could make an EPQ out of it and eventually I settled on a topic.

Can you just give me a rundown of how long you were given to complete the EPQ and when you had to do the presentation?

We were briefed in June-ish I think, I had my title by the end of July and finished the first draft of the dissertation by the end of October/early November. The presentation was at the start of December. So all-in-all about 6 months although the vast majority of the work was done in August-October.

We've just started our project now do you think we'll have our presentation done by early December? I really don't want this interfering with my mock exams.

I honestly don't know, it completely depends on your school. Haven't you been given a timetable and deadlines?
