Speed dates!!

My flat-mate , who is a New York type of girl :confused:

is into speed dating, and as she has a really nice bf back in the States, I think that she shouldn't be doing it as it is a betrayel of trust imo, she "claims that "itis just messing around and having fun", and expects me to cover for her if she is out "having fun" when he calls and expects me to lie to him, which is wrong imo.

So the dilemna is I don't like having to cover for her as when he finds out, then I would loose his friendship, and he would probably dump her.

So does anyone think that I should lie for her, or just tell him the truth?

Don't lie for her. Tell her that if she wants to lie then that's her business but if you're asked any questions by him you'll either tell him to ask her for answers or that you'll be honest.

What on Earth have you to gain by lying? No-one will ever trust you again.

I'd talk to her about it. Suggest if she doesn't really like her boyfriend that much she shouldn't go out with him. Still, if a friend asks me to cover for them I wouldn't go tell tales.

This woman doesn't sound very nice to me. People are paying to go speed dating to find a relationship, and she's going along wasting their time and money as she has no intention of forming a relationship.
