    Hi all

I'm just going into my 3rd year of University and I'm so stuck in terms of which career to go into. I'm studying Sport Science at Loughborough.
I was thinking of becoming a PE teacher but after some work experience have found that it's so repetitive and can be very boring.
I've then looked into the Navy but I'm concerned about constantly being relocated as well as the tough process to actually get into it.
I looked into the Aldi Grad scheme but heard lots of bad reviews about it.
I'm also now considering midwifery but feel like it'll be a waste having already got a degree.

Anyway, does anyone have ANY advice as to careers I could go into? Something relatively exciting and people based. A decent pay would also be a bonus!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'd try the Navy first as it seems the most difficult of the options and the chance of failure are a lot higher with that option.

Then Midwifery second and then PE

It really depends on which of those options seems the most appealing since all those careers seem to have a draw back to yourself

    Hello,

At Milkround, we see a lot of students going through 'career confusion', as you've called it, as you come up to leaving university - suddenly, lots of doors are open to you, which can make it hard to pick a route.

It seems like you're looking for a role that directly relates to Sports Science - have you considered looking for roles outside of Sports Science at all? Your degree will have given you lots of transferable skills that will make you a great candidate for plenty of different sectors and roles.

When thinking about your future career, what might help is making a list of the following:

    a) The skills you have (these can be hard skills, such as the knowledge you've gained from your degree, but also your soft/transferable skills e.g. people skills, leadership skills)

    b) The things you enjoy doing (think about any previous work experience you've had and what you enjoyed there, but also think about what you enjoy doing more widely e.g. I'm guessing you enjoy sports! etc)

    c) What sort of company are you looking to join? Would you like to join a global corporate, or would you prefer a smaller, fast-paced SME?

Once you put this list together, you have a set of skills/preferences, you can then put a company 'wish list' together - and you'll have a picture of the type of roles available to you.

    Hope that helps!

    Thanks,

    Chantelle & The Milkround team
