Flu rememdies- urgent

All week I've felt like I was coming down with something. And yesterday it hit me. Not sure if its flu or just a cold, but I can;t eat, getting hot/cold flushes, physically can't make myself get out of bed, runnny nose, bit of a sore throat. I've been taking paracetemol and drinking lots, as thats all I have.

My dilemma is that this weekend, I'[m meant to be going home with my boyfriend, to meet his parents, and he's won us a £300 beauty/pampering photoshoot. So what can I do today to make myself feel at least a little bedtter? :frown: Realistically too, what are the chances of me being able to go..conisdering I've been in bed all yesterday and today?

EDIT: sorry for poor spelling, grammar.
Ooh dear, sounds like the flu alright.

He's going to have to see if he can rebook it. You're not likely to be able to move tomorrow or the day after to be honest.
I have to go :frown:
Well, whats the best fruit? And whats more efective than paracetemol?

Go to a pharmacist and ask I'd say. It's unfortunate that you have a flu/cold now but there really isn't much you can do about it.. I'm not sure if its effective or not but when I have a cold, taking lots of vitamin c at least has some kind of placebo effect. Like, I take about 3000% of the rda per day (so two of those fizzy tablets..). I'd defintitely recommend that. If you eat fruit, sure that's great, but you would have to eat tonnes of fruit to get that amount of vitamin c..
what are the fizzy tablets?

Well... you put them in water (effervescent), they come in round tubes (plastic), cost 88p from tesco, and have 1667% RDA of vitamin c per tablet (1g of vit c). and apparently they are orange flavoured. they taste quite nice actually!
I've always found ibruprofen to be better for flu than paracetamol...

Try steaming as well. Always helps me a lot. Just boil some water, put it into a boil, hold your head above the bowl inhaling the steam and place a towel over your head. Has always literally cut the length of time I have a cold/flu in half.
Lots of bed rest, drink lots of water, take painkillers (full doses of paracetamol and either ibuprofen or asprin) every four hours, take phenylephrine or pseudoehpedrine to clear your sinuses, make sure you eat well. Bare in mind that 'flu can take up to 2 weeks sometimes!

Yep, like someone said, oranges do help a lot... best way of getting your vit C.
