After the P3 and P1 exams, Im coming back on here to discuss each question. So I know where Ive gone right or wrong, and to see If I need to do better on P2, S1 and S2.

So after all you'se who are only doing P3, and probably have discussed all the questions before I get on here, be prepared to do it again. Cos I desperately need to know, as I need to improve from a D to a B.

hey. i just finished that stupid p1 exam, that i resat cos i didnt get the grade i wanted (i got 79%). n e ways, i did ALL the past papers and found them easy and managed to do them in like 40mins-1hour, BUT todays P1 exam i stressed so much it took me the entire 1.5 hours.

it was OK, but i easily got confused especially with the differentiation.
(here is what i can remember, in no particular order. i may forget some)

QUESTION1: midpoint something and find equation of line - that was ok (i think )

QUESTION2: u had to rationalise denominator and stuff - OK

QUESTION3:the fottball pitch thing with width x and length 20+x. in the end i found 60<x<65.

QUESTION4: find tanx. i think i found 8/3 ... and the other Qs were ok

    QUESTION5:

QUESTION6:differenciation. i kinda got it right, but time was running out so when it said "+-SQRT 3 is a turning point" i just subbed it into my deferentail equation to get 0, instead of actually finding SQRT +-3. also, they asked "it SQRT3 a mx/min?. so i double differenciated but i put -12x^-1 + 108x^-5 INSTEAD of -12x^-3!! + 108x^-5

QUESTION7: i found 4/3 for the area. in order to get there i had to differentiate y twice to get the value of Q.

tell me i didnt get most of it wrong

i got the same as u for q.6, i hope we get it right anyway, because it did say VERIFY +/-SQ-R 3 is a answer, so doing it by substitution should be k i hope

It wasn't as bad as I was expecting, but I still ran out of time. I always do that! I don't remember any of my answers really, but I don't think I did TOO badly!

I tried to diff and set it equal to 0 but I couldnt solve it.....So i substituted and prove that they were = 0.
From past paper mark schemes I've seen we'll get the marks...
