Describe the difference between positive and normative statements and analyse how economic decision making

How does thinking as an economist differ from other forms of scientific enquiry?

Firstly, normative statements are subjective statements, therefore they are not necessarily objective. Positive statements is the opposite of this. In addition, with economics it's more of a social science, so in that respect, a lot of the work undertaken by economists aren't necessarily empirically proven. Though, data is used to form some objectivity, economics look at the world the way it should be. It doesn't look at it from a pure objective view point, unlike say some sciences. That's simply because there's no objective way to view the world.
