Hi, I have just started y12 and I am studying politics, economics and German.

I was disappointed with my GCSE results therefore i am very motivated to do well this year- I have just purchased the text books for my subjects e.g. grammar book for german.

For politics i just received the book i ordered - Edexcel 4th edition gov & pol. It is very thick and information condensed.

I started trying to do a spider diagram on what i was reading but it got very tedious- too much info for one spider.

Should i just read the whole thing for an hour a day until i Finnish and then consolidate what I've read and make a few notes and then do past papers etc or is there a better method?

I asked for advice on economics as well because i have just received the large thick text book for this subject as well.

Lastly when should i start attempting past papers obviously i have only just started so now would be stupid.

For December mocks i hope i can achieve a respectable grade and then an A the summer hence why i would really appreciate any advice on how to go about remembering all of the info from the books.

ps i am watching the news and the economist to keep up to date..

    many thanks for your time.
