I'm applying for Theology in October so I'm probably not the most knowledgable person on here as I'm in the same position as you right now. However, from my experience, I'd say they'll all fairly even in their reputations. The following factors may set a college apart for Theology in your eyes (I made a list because I have way too much time on my hands):

    1. Gonville & Caius = Theology students maintain close ties with Classicists and ASNACs, which may be usual for a) socialising and b) fresh perspectives on your subject. Don't know if that appeals to you, but seeing as there are so few Theologians in each college, it might help!
    2. Different colleges have fellows with varying interests. For me, I'm interested in Old Testament and Judaism so St John's, St Catharine's, Selwyn and (sort of) Peterhouse have fellows/DoS's who specialise in my area of interest. It's worth checking that out but, even so, don't be put off your dream college if it doesn't have a fellow with your interest because they'll be able to find someone in another college who does.
    3. This may be completely wrong, but having spoken to a few ex-theologians, I've heard very promising things about Peterhouse for Theology - so maybe it's worth looking into?
    4. Colleges like Christ's and Trinity take in 1/2/sometimes 0 students for Theology each year. Think about the intake size - maybe you'd feel more comfortable with there being more people studying your subject as they can help you out? Corpus Christi are a funny one for numbers - their intake ranges from 1 to 4. Queens' are the same - sometimes 1 student, sometimes 5 (which is very high for Theology)! Magdalene might be a safer bet if it's numbers you're after - they take in 3/4 per year and, of course, Rowan Williams is the Master. Anyway, I think playing the numbers game doesn't really work as it depends on the quality of applicant each year but I guess it may be something to consider.

    Hope that helps!
