You have to see, i meant Cass not City, people seem to look down on CIty, but not on Cass but technically Cass is a part of City. im think that the law department is is in City as its a social science right? best thing is to go down there yourself
Law at City is meant to be quite good actually.

law at city came about from the incorporation of the Inns of Court School of Law, which has tony blair and margret thatcher amongst its alumni. so yes it has a pretty good reputation
Well, to be honest they were not undergrad alumni of the school and were alumni because of it's position in the past. I'm not sure how it is today, and I'm sure it's a good institution and everything, but don't be fooled by the "Gandhi is an alumnus so it's great" talk.

Again, I'm not saying it's a bad institution, probably a good one (though I haven't looked into it that much).

go to kent...i got an offer for law too and went to see it and its a lush place....has a nightclub on campus and the su is supposed to be v good...i think it about 20 int he league tables for law...city is lower i think...correct me if im wrong.
Im choosing between Kent-QMUL-City

For a business IT course

Acadamically City + QMUL may be better but socially im not sure.....No offence but racially if your white its harder to fit in due to the diverse nationalitys at them unis, which is why im giving kent a long think about

Go to Kent. I'm totally biased, but you'd strugglew to beat Kent for a really first-class student experience. There's loads on campus (including a SU nightclub, and about 7 bars), and half the high street in the city is bars. There's good shopping, continuously improving nightlife, and a Union that's actually going places. Plus the most romantic view from campus you'll ever find.

Plus the Law School's not bad. Blair and Thatcher missed a trick, if they went elsewhere. Go to Kent.

Yup I agree with steveuk82, Kent I think is better than city for Law.

And Law isn't apart of CASS.
From what I've heard, Kent is actually pretty good at Law...
I have this dilemma too, but I opt city as firm and Kent as insurance.
One of my friends left Kent due to the lack of non-uni night life. One of my friends is still there but is a quiet type. I don't see why going to a London university will in any way dampen your social life. It's LONDON for freak's sake. The capital of England you couldn't wish for more to do.

I think Mortell's analysis needs a bit of qualification - if you're a quiet type, go anywhere and don't make your decision based on nightlife. If you're a pubbing type, Kent's a winner - it has heaps of character-packed bars crammed into a small area, whereas London's bar scene is generally overexpensive cloning (in my opinion having frequented both as a student). If you're a clubbing type, sure, go London, although Kent's student nightclub is excellent.

On balance, I prefer nightlife at Kent - it's students have to, to an extent, make their own fun... Kent is (in)famous for house parties and jaunts to Calais (French nightlife, anyone?). London students can afford to be lazy, and expect things to be done to them... I think the student life (both night and day) suffers for that. Ultimately uni is only what you make it, wherever you go, but I think Kent lends itself to a better and more memorable (and more beneficial) experience.

Yeah by all means I didn't mean to say Night life is crap in Kent. I just found out that my friend who left was actually at the Medway campus? Something like that?
