well it doesn't have 3g features, so i'm not sure why you'd want to do that?
however I'm pretty sure it would work fine normally.

Reply 2

yea i dont see any difference between a "normal sim" and a "3G sim". both will work perfectly. the 3G features wont be activated on your mobile. thats all

Reply 3

For us here 3g sims are totally diffrent than the normal ones.it cant work on normal non 3G Phones but the normal sims could work on any other phone;D

Reply 4

Some 3G sims will work in normal phones, some won't.

I know for a fact three's won't, and I think O2's don't aswell, but don't quote me.

3 is not the same thing as 3G. 3 is just one network, 3G is a technology.

Yes, but 3 SIM's are well known for the fact they do NOT work in 2g phones. If you can get one to work, which some people have done for some reason, you get disconnected once they realise what is going on, becasue they can see on their system you are only using the orange roaming network, even in places where there is 3G. This costs them more, and they don't like it.

Exactly, but a USIM from another provider may well work in the 6230i.

AFAIK, USIM's don't work in 2G phones, but feel free to correct me.

No. 3 only has a 3G network, with the provision to roam seamlessly onto Orange's 2G network in areas where 3 doesn't have coverage but Orange does. Orange charges them for this. If they let you use a 2G handset, you'd always be on the Orange network, which completely messes up their business model.

If you only use orange, but they know your are in a 3g area (they track which cell your in, remember) they give you a warning for 30 days, and then cut you off. You have been warned. If your on contract, its less.

If your talking about 3 network SIM's, then your right, but wrong. They will work, but not for long as three will cut you off.

Go back and read this thread. It's 3 not 3G, and it's all explained above.

He is in breach of contract.

Orange is now 3's roaming partner for when you run out of 3's own video coverage. They used to use O2, but Orange were cheaper (But i'm dreading when i switch over fully, because orange doesn't have as good a coverage as O2, IMO)
