Peer-to-Peer is less likely to "go down" as resources aren't all together. Like eggs in a basket...

Client server network allows a system manager to maintain the system better...?
    Peer-to-peer:
    • Easy to set up
    • Less expensive
    • User can allocate resources to others
    • No need for netwrok.manager or administator as users
      manage their own computers

    Client-Server:
    • Strong security
    • Faster sharing of resources
    • Users freed from tasks associated with managing
network, such asbacking up, setting passwords.etc
    • Centralised back up, means data is less likely to be lost

    Here's another question:

Explain three considerations that need to be made when upgrading software.

Explain three considerations that need to be made when upgrading software.
    -ease of use
    -compatability with current hardware

    Yep.

This also applies to when purcahsing new software, although there are more considerations, regarding training, installation times, and technical support to include.

    More questions:

    What is a browser?

LOL - it's the same thing, and what is I, and the examiners would be looking for here.

For the browser question - I think they prefer the word "interface" to program.

    Not doing Unit 2, but...

Vector-graphics can be scaled and resized without any distortion.

They take up less memory and have a higher resolution.

Give three considerations to be made when using graphical user interfaces.

    Think WIMP..
    Windows
    Icons
    Menus
Pointer use, ie using a mouse to click buttons.

Use of pull-down menus to stop screen being cluttered, reduce mouse movements, allowing user to make a selection with just one click, and having the facility to choose which icons are displayed on screen are considerations that need to be made.

Give two advantages and two disadvantages of integrated packages.

Disadvantage: Less complex functions available compared to specific software.
Advantage: Common-user interface, easy to learn.

Can someone give proper answers, I struggle with this stuff quite a lot.
    Advantages:
Common-user interface is a good one.
    Consistency between software programs.
Encourages you to try wider range of programs, such as scheduling and communications programs

    Disadvantages:
You may not use some of the packages
May take up more space than you need
Often the need for two programs to be open at once, hence placing demand on memory
Useful modules in individual programs may be left out of integrated package

Describe 3 advatages to the user of a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) word-processing package?
No need to key in commands, hence good for inexperienced users to create documents.

Reduction in draft copies, as your input is displayed directly on the screen, thus saving time and reducing errors.

Imported files are easier to format.
