    Hey guys,

I am sooo depressed about my A level results. I missed my firm of UCL (AAA) and my insurance of Newcastle which I actually don't care about because I hated but still it's a pride thing. (AAB) .... I got ABC. To be fair the A in Biology was a long shot but what's more annoying is I know exactly where I messed up and argh. It's SOOO frustrating as I'm 4 marks off the A in English Lit and 2 marks off the B in Biology. Two marks??? Anyway, I managed to secure several offers for the course I wanted to do in clearing, some including RG/Top 20 (QMUL, Sussex and Kent) And I chose Sussex, went to visit, loved the course/place/people, I prefer the course here to both my firm AND insurance. But those grades are depressing me more and more each day.

How do I shake this feeling? It's killing me soooo badly. I've always been an over-achiever and never gotten anything lower than a B in my life. People are saying I should be happy because everyone messed up the Biology exam and got Cs/Ds bar two people. But I don't care what people got??? I care what I got. For the first time in my life I don't feel 'smart' and it's bringing me down. School means everything to me.

I'm going to re-sit the two modules next year after my Uni exams (I've already checked exam dates and things, and found a centre) simply for my satisfaction and to get that extra 6 marks and attain AAB. But until then I can't shake this feeling or worthless-ness.

    Advice/anyone else feeling incredibly underwhelmed?

Once you start at university and get underway with the course you love, at the place fate sent you to, which turned out to be better than you thought your firm and insurance choices were, you will forget about A levels in the first couple of weeks. You'll find there are all manner of people there with grades both higher and lower than yours, and it won't matter a jot.
