Hi, I'm nearly 18 and I feel my social life is at breaking point. My friends are always going out with my other friends on weekends, to festivals, seeing each other and I feel quite lonely. Don't get me wrong I make an effort and ask them if they want to go clubbing, cinema, meals and etc but I live quite away from town and getting there is hard I also lack money to travel it's so unfair whilst they live close to the city and they always say there busy or don't text back. Also they don't seem to envite me anymore as they did in previous years. I don't know what I'm doing wrong and don't know how to get out of this situation, I'm extremely bored, lonely, frustrated and I feel I'm loosing contact with life in general and as if I'm wasting so much precious time whilst I'm young. I'm currently hoping that university will be a much better place to get out at socialise but I don't want it to be the same situation as I am in now and throw away the opportunity of having the best years of my life. I'm very sporty, love to get out and travel, good at cooking, I'm good at school and I have many friends when I'm there and they seem to like really me. I can't pick up any signs of them disliking me as they enjoy my company and always like talking to me whilst we're chilling and in lessons and doing sport with each other. I'm just confused by all this. Can someone help me or relate to this please? much appreciated. Sorry about this long story, just wanted to get it of my chest for good.

Maybe you should try finding friends in your area...
