reducing breast size

hey, am 17 years old female and i really want to reduce my breast size, I hate them since i have back pains, am extremely concious about them, and i get unwanted attention, which frustrates me alot. Also finding bra's becomes difficult and fitting into size 10 tops. However weight isnt an issue here and i do not want to undergo sugery as am scared of the side effects and i cant exactly afford sugery. So what am asking is that are they're any alternatives to surgery for women who want a breast reduction? would intensive exercise reduce my breast size?

What size are you? If you wear the right size in a proper, sturdy bra your breasts usually look smaller anyway. In a sports I don't look as big, so makes it easier to do everyday tasks. When I go out it tends to be a different story though:biggrin:

Oh yeah HTH

theres no way to lose breast size if its not a weight issue without the surgery - which you can get on the nhs if they feel you have the need. I would go get sized properly, because a proper fitting bra will help alieviate some of them pain.

Really would need to know what size you are as to whether surgery would be a good idea. the side effects arent too many, and if you spoke to your gp who could refer you to a surgeon you could talk about what to expect in terms of after effects. Its normally a small amount of scaring and maybe some loss in sensation, and general anaesthetic risks, which are mostly minimal. its worth going in to talk about it. What do you ahve to lose?

I'm confused about the fact that you said one of the problems you have is fitting into size 10 tops. You could just buy size 12 tops surely?

Like Lauren said, a well-fitting bra should stop the pain. If you're having trouble getting ones in the usual places, then go to more specialist shops eg bravissimo, or somewhere like figleaves.com.

The style you pick also affects the size (or at least the appearance of the size). Obviously don't go for a balcony or something like that. I know M&S do minimizer ones - tried anything like that?

I did hear that jogging reduces breast size, but I'm fairly certain that's a load of crap. Anyone know anything about this?

That could be related to losing weight - losing breast fat.
I know when I start jogging I lost a bit of weight, about 1 and half clothes sizes. My breasts didn't get any smaller though, if anything they got bigger in relation to my back where I lost some weight.
It can depend on the amount of fatty tissue in your breasts.

Ye, jogging only works if you have weight to lose. M&S minimisers are good for reducing size, but so will a properly fitting bra. Get sized. Get the right type of bra.

Yes I agree, but I was just pointing out that the style as well as the fit can make a really big difference - I have a couple of bras that are very cleavagey (unintentionally- obviously she wouldn't go for a wonderbra or something, but certain styles just do it anyway)

Reductions can be done at any age as long as there is a good enough justification for the risks. It is advised to wait until your breasts have stopped growing though. I'm 19 and mine are still growing and changing.
