I'm 21 years old and I lost my big brother when I was just 9 years old. It affected me greatly and I think I have repressed all my feelings as I don't ever talk about him and most of my friends don't even know. I feel I should open up about it and really want to, there is just something stopping me. Every time I have told someone they either ask a tonne of questions or act strange..Any advice?

First of all sorry for your loss. Can't you talk to your parents about it? I would say that a lot of people don;t understand what it is like to have a sibling die unless they have so talking to other people may not help you. My brother also died so I kind of get where you are coming from. You have to keep their memory alive but still accept that they are gone and would want you to be happy and live your own life. Maybe try and do something in his memory or remember the anniversay of his death every year.

How do you want people to react when you open up? If the idea is talking about it, doesnt that involve people asking questions?
