    I thought it was really hard too, and everybody i know did. Managed to do most of Q8, which is the qustion i normally find hard. Yeah no 1 was a *****! If fact so was the whole paper, i go to a grammar school, and everyone who took it found it hard! And no retake either as this is the only attempt!

    prove that:
    d/dx (ln(cosecx+cotx)=-cosecx

    it was easy ... d/dx(cosecx)=-cosecxcotx
    d/dx(cot x) =-cosce^2 x

    let y=ln(cosecx+cotx)
    e^y=cosecx+cotx
    dy/dx e^Y= -cosecx(cotx+cosecx)

    substituting e^y back in...

    dy/dx=-cosecx

    QED!

    Was t 60 or something? Whatever it was it was a nice round number...cos t being 0.5 or something...
    I got t=60 and a=90sqrt(3). (I forgot to convert 90 into Pi/2 though )

    Edexcel: Waz the tangent, 12y-5x+38=0?
    The series expansion: 3-2x+11x^2, not valid x=0.5
    The equation of the circle: (x-5)^2 + (y-13)^2 = 169
    A = (0.5t + 0.5)^-2, then when t=0 A=4
    Factorisation: x(2x-1)(x+2)
    R = 6ln2 -(pi^2)/3

    What I did was like:
    As u may know:

    [lnf(x)]' = f'(x)/f(x)

    Then cosecx would come out of the brackets and there u go.....

    ohhh shite... i did it touching the y axis by accident so i got = 25... (how many marks do you think i will lose for this)...
    i dont think that effects tangent though coz the 25 goes when differentiated... could do the last vector question... but other than that the whole paper was piss easy... i got other same answers i think...

    Worst friggin exam ever, OCR take the p out of P*ss. I hate them, b*stards. Hardest exam I've had to do, considering I've done all the past papers from 97 onwards and averaging 90 per cent on them, with this one I was skipping questions left right and centre totally annoyed.

    totally agree! i wanted to cry. nasty pasty OCR making a revolting paper *had to but heat and chocolate to cheer herself up*... so want to get drunk tonight and i answered my questions so completely and utterly out of order. and i honestly am not confident i answered any question correctly (or even the right method...)

    I soooooooo totally agree! How IMPOSSIBLE was that paper. All through the exam I thought I was going to faint or something, and afterwards I was trying to decide whether to cry or burst into hysterical laughter… I chose the latter.

    I have never done so badly in an exam! In fact I don’t think ive ever left a question out! At the end I worked out that I only even attempted 28/60 of the marks… let alone if I even got them right!

    I’m pissed off because I revised and I do know P3… and revising more wouldn’t even have helped, it’s just how the questions were worded left me wondering what the hell they were going on about. It was more of a hmmm well I cant do that one I’ll leave it out and go to the next one and come back, o **** I cant do that one either… or that one… or that one.

    On the other hand, I just ate lots of icecream and plan on having a fun night out tonight to make me forget all about it!
