    GCSE's 9A*'s 3A's
AS AAAB (1 ums off an A in dropped subject)
    A2 3A* predictions
Top 3 UMS average (87%) - due to slip ups in 1 or 2 units but high ums in 5/6 maths units and 2/3 physics units

I want to apply to imperial mech eng as well

Oxford definitely, Cambridge possibly not because of the UMS. What AS did you get a B in? You should also have a good shot at Imperial. All of this is assuming that the B isn't for Maths or Physics (or Further Maths, hopefully).

Okay, I think that's fine then. As I say, Cambridge is probably not the greatest idea because of your UMS (it's not impossible, but your chances aren't brilliant). Your grades but you in a very good position to apply to Oxford but you will still need to do well in the PAT and at interview.

What are your exact UMS per module - especially for Maths/FM? Cambridge can see if you have 1 or 2 low modules and *may* not be too concerned.

One approach could be to apply to a Cambridge college that includes STEP for Engineering offers. This makes it more likely you will get an offer, but don't understimate the difficulty of getting a good mark in STEP. Christ's asks for a 1 in STEP I.

As others have said you would have to do PAT for Oxford - but that's pre-interview. Whereas STEP is at the end of Year 13.

Per unit please... (But yes 80.66% will definitely be a worry)

are they low because of the ISA/EMPA or your actual unit exams?

    Yep.

Ok. So, as you acknowledged, you won't be the most competitive. You *might* get an interview, especially as your modules are rather variable and they might feel its worth seeing you to assess you better.

They (Cambridge) do interview a lot of people. And, to my first point, your Maths is pretty good and could potentially "withstand" the pressure of STEP.

Forgot to mention that I got a C in critical thinking - I prioritised physics over this will they care about t? Oxford and imperial?

No. Critical Thinking (and General Studies) are not part of their considerations.

They don't include Critical Thinking either.

You need to be predicted an A* in physics but your UMS is quite low - see if your school will let you and, assuming that you are predicted an A* in maths too, you should be able to make a competitive application
