Hello,I'm looking spend my gap year volunteering aboard for anytime from a 1 mouth to a year.

Right now I'm looking at Project Trust but I was just wondering if there are anymore good companies like Project Trust. I really like Project Trust but there is no harm in looking around.

I am in Year 13 studying English Literature, History and Drama. I hope to go on to study International Development and International Relations at either Sussex, Leeds, Portsmouth or UEA. I just want to volunteer now because my ideal job in the future is to be paid to work on development projects for a charity or another organisation.
If I don't go away for a whole year I will be working full time at my current part time job in Boots to fund it

Thanks and any advice would be most helpful

hi there. Project Trust are a great choice for your gap year if you would like to volunteer for a whole year. Africa & Asia Venture were founded in 1998 offering similar meaningful projects but for shorter periods (4 months), and now 5 weeks too. If you're looking to become part of a rural community to experience a different culture, as well as gaining new skills for your future, we might be worth a look. We are the only company that offers a period of independent travel at the end with 24/7 back up in case of emergencies. Happy to offer advice and answer any questions. @AventureUK
