I'm intrested in finance but as it covers so many different jobs I'm struggling to choose a path. Any advice for how to find out more about what is involved in different branches and how to choose a branch? I am a chemistry graduate with A levels in maths, physics, chemistry and AS economics.

i would say intern at a few places if you can though it might be hard as a graduate, or just find work experience. Finance is quite a broad area, if you'd like a balance between a technical and consultancy role - Actuarial is good (Your maths has to be of a really high standard, exams are challenging and motivation is required to qualify), Accountancy, Quantitative Analysis (Quants - again very good in Maths and Computer Science / programming, very technical role), and there's more...

Best advice i can give is just get some work experience in what you'd like to go down, you'll know if it's for you within a few months.
