I'm hoping someone who does maths can help me out here! I've never seen these symbols before and therefore have no idea what it means, nor what to put into my calculator to find the answer for myself.

Any ideas? I feel really stupid asking this, but I've just never seen it before :/. I know how to calculate implicit interest using another method, but this one removes the necessity for factor tables so it would be useful to know!

    Hi,

That is the sign for annuity factor. On the right side (of the upside down L shape) is the interest rate and left side is number of periods. Hope this helps!

Perfect, thanks so much! So weird, I've done annuities plenty of times but never seen it that way before, you're a star!
