Not seen him for ages!
I am aware that this will sound completely stupid but i am going to a party soon and this guy is going who i was completely besotted with SIX YEARS AGO!!! 
We used to be really good friends but sadly lost touch and i have not seen him since. 
The thing is for some crazy reason i have never managed to fully get him out of my system and still think of him.
I would really like to be friends again and get back in touch and this party will provide the perfect opportunity. The thing is i am shy (much shyer than i used to be) and am wondering what would be the best way to approach him.
Any advice gladly appreciated!

Wow and I thought you were going to say you havent seen him in a few months but 6 years!!!!
Well it does make approaching him easier If you havent spoken properly in that time then the easiest way in is asking him what he has been up to and he should ask you in return! By the time you both cover the 6 year period you will have had a good few drinks and hopefully the conversation would have branched of from each others personal biographies of the last 6 years!

I am in the sort of the same situation, I like a guy who i haven't seen in a few months. But it doesn't look like I am going to see him again anytime too soon . Good luck with you
