Never been to an actual club before nor am I a drinker. I want to go out on freshers for maybe one night and get a first hand experience on what it is like and find out why people love clubbing so much. As I've never been to one, can someone give me some ideas on what to wear? What kind of dresses do girls wear? Can I wear casual day clothes or would I have to wear 'going out' clothes, if that makes sense. Do you girls wear flats?

I'm sure nobody at a club will care what I wear but I don't want to stand out, in a bad way, wearing jeggings and a hoodie lol.

don't wear a hoodie to go clubbing, please!

I wore flats and most girls I went out with did too in freshers. Occasionally I wear boots with a chunky heel but nothing that would make it difficult to walk in. Nobody will judge you for being in flats though Go on facebook and search for the club you are going to- usually they have photos up from previous club nights and then you will be able to see what other girls wear.

    Thanks for the reply.

I don't have facebook or Twitter so I can't check what people wore to previous parties. I'll probably wear flats because they're comfy.

But I'm really stuck on why type of dress to wear. Is going casual with a plain dress appropriate for a club or would something with patterns/sequins be better?

I wouldn't go too dressy, do you have a pic to show what kinda stuff you are looking at? I guess in places like London it might be more dressy but here in Nottingham not so much. Some girls dress up every time they go out, others are more casual. Most styles should be ok

It depends where you go tbh. Some places i will wear high waisted jeans, crop top and converse. Others i will wear a dress and heels (with flats in my bag in case i wanna go mental on the dancefloor lol).

You might want to find out the dress codes for the clubs as some can be quite funny about certain shoes/outfits. However, in my experience they are a bit more lenient at student/fresher events.
