Lovebites

Hi please can someone tell me how long on average it takes for them to go down?

Also, any other ways to hide them other than makeup and high necked tops?!!!

Usually about a week to go completely. Depends on how dark they are in the first place.

Might help..

Don't ask how I found it

Put a plaster on it and say your cat scratched you.

Few days I'm afraid :frown:.

You could always wear it as a badge of honour. Make up an amusing war story to go with it, works a charm.

'I got this in 'nam...'.

They're just bruises, so it all depends on how quickly bruises fade on you normally. Vitamin C will help, though.

And the only ways of covering them up are clothing or make-up. Just make sure that any makeup you use is blended in carefully, otherwise it might make them more obvious if you've a huge patch of foundation!

As it's a bruise, arnica might help...?

My Nan always told me that if you rub vinegar on a bruise, it makes it go quicker. Haven't tried it myself. Otherwise well-blended makeup is the way to go.

Heehee...you can never cover them up completely, people can always tell...

If you have long hair, wear it down, but I guess that depends on whereabouts it is on your neck. As for time...I'd imagine it'd definitely be gone in a week, at the most. Could be a few days, but it depends on the strength of the bruise, as people have said.

You'll have to bear the humilation this time & learn the lesson to be more discreet in future!

A week?!!!!

It'll be alright at school because i'll just wear a pashmina, it's just sitting down to dinner, i'd prefer if my mother didn't see it!! wearing a scalf round the house is WAY too obvious!!

Up to a week, I mean, that would be the uppermost limit of how long it will take to fade. Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you! My guess would have been 3/4 days. More than one? Oh dear :p: good luck!

I wear a scarf/shawl around the house all the time because it's quite cold atm, so maybe she wouldn't notice it so much...though if you did it every day it might become evident that you're hiding something...

I gave someone a lovebite about two weeks ago & its still there....before that i gave them one on their stomach which we at the time thought would be a good place cause its very unlikely to be seen there...but he forgot completely & scratched his tummy infront of his mom n she saw it  ...loool  guess you should just try the make-up thingy & try to wear your hair down & wear clothing that covers it up....good luck its not easy...

I put toothpaste on mine and it went in 2 days.

Also I found trying to hide it made my mates even more curious to see my neck and then my girlfriend started getting called vaccum cleaner so I say the cat scratching is the best one which I might try....

Just tell all your mates that you've taken up playing the violin/viola and that you've been practicing really hard. I have a pretty much permanent mark on my neck from playing violin which doesn't actually bother me too much.....until someone decided to actually give me a proper love bite there.....

I've only ever had one and that was when I was 14. I tried all the "toothpaste on it" etc and it just didn't work. I remember having my hair down a lot though for the next 5 days.

*giggles* In year 10 I gave one to my boyfriend of the time and he put a plaster on it and when my form tutor asked him what happened he told her that I'd fallen down on him and somehow accidently bitten his neck.

...she didn't believe him...lol.
