spend some student loan already but want to drop out watch

    • Thread Starter

    Hi everyone
My student loan was paid in a few weeks ago and i have already spent a couple of hundred on uni essentials, however i have decided i don't like my course and want to change uni and course next year, which means i will be dropping out. Will i have to pay back the student loan money that i have spent immedialy, or will i only have to pay back when i am earning? thanks

I think you will only have to pay back any grants .. how long has your term been going on for?

How long have you been on the course? It's possible your university may allow you to transfer to another course at this stage. This would prevent you losing a whole year of student finance when you've only been there a few weeks. Which to be honest can become a problem down the line if you want to do a placement year or if you end up having to retake a year.

Though to answer your question I'm fairly certain only grants will need be paid back before the usual payback when earning.
