Help! So, I have signed up to do extended project just to see if it is for me after hearing people saying it would be useful, but im struggling to think of a topic to do it on. Does it have to be a topic you know loads about or can it be something you know not so much about but want to know more? Im really into football, but im sure that wouldn't be a good topic to do it on! I was thinking maybe 9/11 after it being the anniversary of it, would that be a good topic? and what question would i do on it if so?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

Do you have any idea what subject you'd like to study at university? It can be useful to base your EPQ on a topic related to your degree course as it shows that you are committed to learning about that subject

Ive just started my EPQ too, we we're told we can write about anything that we're studying. So I'd pick something that you have an interest in, but it has to be a concise question. Good luck

The best thing to do is to choose a broad topic - don't limit yourself! My topic was originally going to be The Helderberg (A SAA plane that went down in the 80s) but I've widened it to airline safety in general (well in general meaning with regards to advanced cockpit technology and attempts to 'pilot proof') to give me more scope.

9/11 is a great topic - there's the political motivations, conspiracy theories, emotional impacts, heroic stories, the physics of the collapse, so many ways to go with it.

At the end of the day, it's you who will spend a year on this project, so for goodness sake make sure the topic you settle on is one you like!

Im not even sure if im going to uni yet, let alone what im going to study. We have been told that we are not allowed to do anything that has been covered in the subjects we are doing for AS and A level or else i maybe would of done something on biology or geography. Yeah I was thinking there was alot to write about on 9/11 so i might go with that as i dont really know too much about it but its something i would be interested in to know more.
    Thanks
