Text from DWP/Jobcentre this morning about my "claim" despite no longer signing on watch

I was on Jobseeker's Allowance until I signed off four months ago, because I then started a job. Today, I received a text off them saying:

We have received your claim for Jobseeker's Allowance. We will contact you with a decision shortly. You do not need to contact us but you must continue to attend any Jobcentre Plus appointments as directed.
WTF? What claim? Either this is some kind of systematic error, or it's something worse, like identity theft.

In my text messages history, I received a similar text on the 24th September 2014, basically saying the same thing, and the day before I received a text telling me that I had an appointment, but there's no such text this time.

Anyone had anything similar to this?

The DWP almost certainly made a mistake. Best thing to do is call them up and ask what they're doing, chances are they'll just say to ignore it. It's better they tell you to do it than you simply ignore it and then get a "sanction" put against you unjustly as that could later affect you if you need JSA again.

Cheers. I tried ringing them at work today but as usual they "had no available operators", for a change. Decided to **** it off because I was on my employer's landline and didn't want to incur many charges.

Let's hope I never get into a position where I need to use JSA ever again, although I may be tempting fate by saying that!

I don't think anyone *wants* to be on benefits but sometimes it's a necessity so you don't become homeless and die of starvation!

Normally their lines are open until 6 but I find they're a bit busier after 5 and around lunchtime. Either that or some of the call centre staff knock off at 5. 2-3pm seems to be a good time to call them but obviously if you're in work that can be tricky.
