I' currently studying at a college where lots of students are retaking their AS exams. I was wondering why that was. They had got great GCSE results but failed their AS exams. Is it because they did not revise enough? I am aware of how hard they are but surely they are like anyother exam, do the work and revise and you should be good. I was wondering if you guys could tell me your experiances. Thanks a lot for any replies.

It is perhaps constant work that makes your succeed at A-level. In my experience, the people who did well at GCSE and poor at A-level still had a GCSE mindset. They left revision till a few months before exams and did it all at once, because the content is harder at A-level and requires practice they failed to get high marks.

Most people at my college did not do the work. A few just made ridiculous and badly informed A Level choices, leaving them bored, unmotivated, and in some cases incapable of doing the work because they had chosen subjects that they were just no good at.
