Do you pay/receive payments from your friends for the services they/you provide? watch

Such as helping you out/giving advice & stuff. Just wondering as it's hard to put a monetary value on it. If I've provided a helpful service to a friend I wouldn't expect them to pay me for it, at most a service in return sometime if I'm always having to help them out. In general though I'd just help them out as they're a friend, & feel it's a decent thing to do Just wanted some opinions as a guy wanted me to write off a debt because of providing a service, although I've actually provided many services to him & it's all getting a bit confusing trying to convert that into a monetary sense.

I think it's possibly a little bold of him to put a monetary value on it.

What service did he provide and how much is he wanting you to pay/write off for it?
