I am hoping to go to university next year but I'm in a muddle about accommodation. The course i want to do has a certain amount of placements throughout the year and i was wondering is it worth getting accommodation at the uni to still have to travel and get accommodation close to my placements? any help would be greatly appreciated

Are the placements definitely not commutable to from the campus itself?

i think they will be in that sort of area but it might be expensive to travel there everyday

I think generally unless you're travelling more than an a couple of hours to somewhere that the costs of travelling would be cheaper than getting accomodation elsewhere if that makes sense.
Is it an nhs course per chance?

Yeah that makes sense, thanks! & yeah its an NHS course so i guess that bursary helps with costs.

If you get the means tested bit of nhs bursary, if you do end up needing accommodation off campus during placement (if its more than 90 mins away i think) they ll pay up to £50 a night for it. So i d say if you want to live on campus go for it and then if you have to nhs bursary should be able to give you some support if you need different accommodation for placement
