Applying for English Literature (entry requirements AAA) and also Classical studies with Comparative Literature for 2016 entry.

My AS grades are ABB (the A being 3 marks off full marks in one paper) and I'm hoping to get 3 A's by the end of year 13.

GCSES - Not the best, I have to admit. 1 A, 3 BS and 6Cs. The A being in English Language and a B in English Lit.

Deputy Head Girl, Literacy Co-ordinator for all key stages, Work experience at Global FM (Heart, Capital and Smooth Radio North East), Judged a sixth form debate, Taught year sevens to read and also in the process of setting up a book club. I'm going to mention all of this in my personal statement. What do you reckon my chances are?

Have you had a look at the English Department's PS guidance?

When we attended an open day a few years ago the admissions officer said 'we're interested in 3 things in your personal statement: subject, subject and subject'. She implied they are not so swayed by extra-curricular activities, unless they clearly relate to the subject.
