    To you (irrelevant of your ideology you can still talk about this) what are the main main principles of left-wing politics? My 5 would be
    1.Equality
    2.Higher taxes on the rich
    3.Larger role of the state
    4.A large welfare state
    5.Nationalisation

    4. Nationalisation of essential services

    This. OP's were not bad, but many of them seem to mistake means for ends. United's list describes the ends better, I feel.
