I am doing an EPQ and I have absolutely no idea what to do!

I want to go into medicine for university so I know it has to be based on science,
but other than that, I dont know where to start! How do I just pick a question out in the air? Does it have to be related to the latest health news?

I would really appreciate it if anyone who did a science based EPQ could give me some advice, and particular what area I could base it on!

I can only give general advice as I haven't done a science EPQ.

It doesn't necessarily have to be something very recent and modern - if you think you are able to successfully challenge a slightly older issue in the sciences/medical field then go for it.

Do you have any ideas at all what you wish to write about? An astounding lot of people seem to have this problem and all I can suggest is to just brainstorm some areas you are interested in and possible issues you might want to tackle, then look into them further.

Heck even drafting your paper might make you more confident on what specific question you wish to debate over.
