3. Hi. Don't know if you've done this question yet? (the link in the post above mine didn't help, lol)

For each part, work out the probability using the ratio and proportions given, use n=8 and then a random variable with the appropriate binomial distribution.

(i) p(male)=9/20; X ~ B(8, 9/20).
Work out P(X=8)

(ii) p(female)=11/20; X ~ B(8, 11/20)
Work out P(X=5)

(iii) p(part time)
=( (9/3)+(11/2) ) / 20
=17/40; X ~ B(8, 17/40)
Work out P(X >= 2)
