You'll find spot where you getting a better signal than others, but overall I don't it was too bad!

The signal upon the hill is pretty patchy to say the least. Depends on which network you are on really. Orange is pretty poor, Vodaphone is very good. I remember laughing at all the recruits hanging out of their windows and shouting into their phones whilst trying to get a decent signal.

Don't worry, you will work it out!

Hey random question here, i know you can take your mobile phone down to halton, but do we get any mobile phone signal at halton? lol

My son phones most days and does not have too much of a problem. Good luck

i took my 4n up there and i didnt get much of a signal on orange network during pre-rtc
Im at RAF Halton now and my phone works fine, so does everyone elses on my flight, not heard of anyone having a problem. Just bear in mind that you'll only be allowed to use it after you have been dismissed in the evening and even then only in the barrack block. You'll get dismissed about 8-9 in the first week, about 6-7 in the seccond week. Phones are to be off (as are lights!) by 2300.

All the best with your training, you'll absolutely love it, its VERY hard work but great fun!

Having just had my fiancee pass out from halton, we found that the Orange signal was very poor in her block. We had to get another sim card and phone it was so bad. In the end she used O2, bit of a pain considering we spent the money on two orange contracts with tons of inclusive minutes!
I think im going for Vodafone now as ive heard its good at both halton and crantanamo bay, as thats where il be going after RTS its the wise decision.
cranwell gets ok orange signal aswell, (not good for you as your going to halton first) but for other people! x
