A lot of people say to take something with you when you first move in to 'break the ice', usually food.
Has anyone done this or is anyone thinking of taking something when they first move in?

Depends on who you are. For example, I'm a big drinker so I took a shot roulette drinking game thing, whereas my flatmate brought cards against humanity. As a general rule of thumb, if you drink it's always good to have some sort of drinking game in your head

Maybe all of you getting take away pizza on the first night or something is a good idea, but be careful that not everybody can afford this and many will want to budget appropriately so don't make people uncomfortable
